The South Bay Crusaders Lacrosse Club was established in 2004 to promote the sport of lacrosse in the South Bay region of the San Francisco Peninsula area. The purpose of the Crusaders Lacrosse Club is instill within our players a true love for the game of lacrosse and to develop lacrosse skills, good sportsmanship and the camaraderie that comes for competing in a team environment. The South Bay Crusaders Lacrosse Club is an independent, non-profit organization and is not part of any single city or school district.
Membership is open to boys and girls in grades throughout the Peninsula and South Bay. There are no geographic restrictions - anyone can join the Crusaders, although most players live in the Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View and Sunnyvale areas.
The Crusaders Club is part of the Northern California Junior Lacrosse Association (NCJLA), which includes numerous Varsity and Junior Varsity, Junior Boys and Girls, Pups and PeeWee club teams. These teams are located throughout the Bay Area in San Mateo, Santa Clara, San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Sonoma, Marin, and Monterey counties.
The Crusaders sponsor the following teams (dates are as of 12/31 of the previous year):
Congratulations to our Pups White team who played their way to the 2008 Pups B2 Division Northern California Championship on May 31st at Spartan Stadium. This represents the first Northern California Championship for any Crusaders team and is a huge milestone for the Pups White players and the club. Well done coach Chris Grejtak and all the Pups White players! See the full story here.
Congratulations also to our Juniors Blue team who competed in the Northern California Final Four tournament at Spartan Stadium and came away with the Bronze Medal. In their initial match, the Crusaders had an epic struggle with eventual champion Skyline that ended in a close 7-6 loss for the Crusaders. After trailing much of the way, Skyline eventually took advantage of a couple of extra man opportunities and was able to overtake our boys and hold on for the narrow victory. The Crusaders took out some of their frustration from the morning match on the Santa Cruz Warriors in the afternoon match winning handily by a 16-5 score to secure the bronze medal. The Juniors Blue team can be very proud of the way they played and for a great season.
